Hi my name is Lesley and I am little room, I have been working at Little Poppets since January 2024.
I have two teenage children who make me extremely proud on a daily basis and I’m so thankful that I’m their mum.
My childcare journey started a long time ago. I completed my NNED (Nursery nurse Diploma) in 1998. Whilst I was studying I attend a number of different childcare settings, including nurseries, primary schools and home settings where I gained a great deal of experience and knowledge.
I started my working career in a nursery but while my children were still young I decided to become a self-employed child minder looking after children from 6months – 8 years. While I ran my own business I completed my level 3 CCLD (CHILD CARE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMET).
Once my children started school I decided that a change was needed and so I became a senior nursery supervisor at Barkers lane school in Barras and I also worked in their after school club, I stayed here for three years.
From here I signed up to the Educate agency and became a TA (Teaching Assistant) in my local primary school.
My final job before joining Little Poppets Nursery was at my local out of school club where I was the manager.
I am so excited to be a part of the little Poppets family. The children amaze me on a daily basis, they are full of curiosity, joy and wonder with a hint of mischievousness just to keep me on my toes. They fill me with a sense of satisfaction and pride and in my opinion defiantly one of the most rewarding job roles a person can have.
