Hi, my name is Louise or as the children call me ‘Miss Louise’ and I am the owner and Manager of ‘Little Poppets Nursery’.

I have two grown up children of my own who have each inspired my career in their own personal and unique ways and more recently six grandchildren who continue to delight and amaze me. I am passionate about childhood and a child’s right to just be a child; to be able to wallow in the experience and all it has to offer. I believe that all children should be able to enjoy rich and varied experiences that evoke their natural desire to wonder, explore and find out. I am delighted to be able to offer a setting that will nurture and celebrate the very essence of childhood.

My early Years experience started in truth with the birth of my own children – many years ago; however my professional career was probably instigated by our third child and her very unique and special needs. I began to realise and appreciate that this experience and her individuality was no different to any other child’s needs, particularly in the eyes of a parent, and that all children are truly special and unique. Her needs were just so much more complex. I started my working career in ‘Green Park special school’ in Wolverhampton and worked across the age range from 5-17 in a supporting role for children and young people with SLD (severe learning difficulties) and PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties). It was here I studied and gained my Early Years Care and Education level 3. In 2004 we moved from Wolverhampton to Shropshire and I worked at Kinnerley Primary School in the Nursery unit as the nursery leader. Later I went on to work as ‘play leader’ at Hope House Children’s Hospice and then went on to Welshampton Caterpillars where I was manager. I achieved a distinction award for my Foundation Degree in 2011 and together our team at Caterpillars achieved an ‘outstanding’ setting from Ofsted.

I continued to study and develop my professionalism to strengthen my career and in 2013 I graduated with a BA Hons in Early Years Leadership and opened Little Poppets Nursery.
